Ingredients of Cherry Pockets

  1. Make ready of Dough.
  2. Prepare 2 cup of flour.
  3. You need 1/2 cup of margarine (1 stick).
  4. Take 3/4 cup of sugar.
  5. You need 1 of egg.
  6. Prepare 1 dash of salt.
  7. Make ready of Cherry Filling.
  8. It’s 2 cup of frozen dark sweet pitted cherries (or 12 oz can).
  9. It’s 1/3 cup of sugar.
  10. You need 2 tbsp of flour.
  11. Prepare 1/4 tsp of cinnamon.

Cherry Pockets step by step

  1. Mix dough ingredients together to form smooth dough. If too difficult wet your hands..
  2. Mix the filling ingredients..
  3. Roll out dough to 1" thickness..
  4. Using 3 1/2" cookie cutters and 2 3/4" cookie cutters cut out 12 circles of each size..
  5. To assemble: place tbsp cherry filling (2-3 cherries) on 2 3/4" circles. Then cover with bigger circles and seal edges well. Its ok if dough cracks it will look nicer..
  6. Bake on 350¤ until golden brown around 15-20 minutes. Once cooled sprinkle confection sugar ontop..
